The Challenge

Approaching retirement is the most consequential financial decision of your life.

"Will my money last?"

Most Australians underestimate how long retirement lasts. Without a drawdown strategy, you risk running out — or living too frugally when you don't need to.

"Am I paying too much tax?"

The difference between a good and great retirement plan can be hundreds of thousands in tax over 20+ years. Super, pension, and personal asset sequencing matters enormously.

"Can I trust the advice?"

Bank-owned and institutionally-aligned advisers are incentivised to recommend their own products. Self-licensed advice removes that conflict entirely.

What You Get

A retirement plan built around your life — not a product shelf.

Every strategy is personalised, modelled to your specific numbers, and delivered under a fiduciary obligation to act in your best interests.

Retirement Income Modelling

Detailed cashflow projections showing exactly how your wealth sustains your lifestyle — year by year, accounting for inflation, tax, and Age Pension entitlements.

Tax-Effective Drawdown Strategy

Sequencing withdrawals from super, pension, and personal assets to minimise tax and maximise what you keep. The order matters more than most people realise.

Superannuation Optimisation

Contribution strategies, fund consolidation, transition-to-retirement pensions, and pension commencement — structured to squeeze every dollar from the tax concessions available to you.

Portfolio Construction

Risk-appropriate, diversified investment portfolios on leading platforms (HUB24, Netwealth, BT) — tailored to your income needs and risk tolerance, not a model portfolio.

Age Pension Strategy

Eligibility assessment and optimisation — structuring assets to maximise your entitlement without sacrificing lifestyle or flexibility.

Estate & Legacy Planning

Binding death benefit nominations, beneficiary structuring, and coordination with your solicitor — so your wealth passes efficiently to the people who matter.

Common Questions

Answers about retirement planning.

Not finding your question here? The Discovery Call is the right place to ask anything — no obligation.

Book a Free Call →
  • Is the Discovery Call really free?
Yes, completely. The initial 30-minute call is at our cost. It's an honest conversation about your situation — no pressure, no sales pitch, and no obligation to proceed.
  • How much does financial advice cost?
Our fees are transparent and fee-for-service. Initial advice starts from $1,650 for simple situations to $5,500 for complex cases. Ongoing service fees range from 0.55%–1.01% p.a. depending on portfolio size. Fees can generally be paid from your super or investments — we'll explain everything upfront.
  • What does "self-licensed" mean for me?
We hold our own Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL 562647) directly. Unlike advisers who operate under a bank's or dealer group's licence, we have no product quotas, no approved product lists, and no institutional conflicts. Every recommendation is based solely on what's right for you.
  • How far from retirement should I start planning?
Ideally 5–10 years before your target retirement date. This gives enough time to optimise contributions, minimise tax, and structure assets for the transition. That said, it's never too late — even clients already in retirement benefit from a proper drawdown and tax strategy.
  • Do I need to come to your office?
Not at all. While our Barangaroo (Sydney) office is available for in-person meetings, most clients meet via Zoom. We advise clients nationally — your location doesn't limit the quality of advice you receive.
  • What if I have an SMSF?
Troy holds the SMSF Specialist Advisor™ (SSA™) designation — the industry's highest SMSF credential. Whether you're setting up an SMSF, restructuring an existing one, or transitioning to pension phase, specialist SMSF advice is a core part of what we do.
